India’s High Commissioner to Fiji, Suneet Mehta, met Fiji’s Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister, Sakiasi Ditoka, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides talked about expanding ties in key sectors of mutual interest. They discussed new opportunities to improve partnership in areas such as trade, development, and regional cooperation. The Indian High Commission in Fiji shared on social media that the talks reaffirmed the strong and friendly relationship between the two nations, often referred to as the India-Fiji “Veilomani Dosti” partnership.
The meeting highlighted the long-standing friendship between India and Fiji, which is based on shared values, cultural links, and people-to-people connections. Both leaders expressed their commitment to further deepen cooperation and work closely on common goals.
Earlier this week, Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita met Fiji’s Minister for Finance, Commerce and Business Development, Esrom Immanuel, in New Delhi. They discussed bilateral ties, shared priorities, and new areas of cooperation.
During that meeting, both sides explored possibilities of working together in digital infrastructure and economic development. They also discussed ways to enhance trade and investment between the two countries.
The recent meetings reflect ongoing efforts by India and Fiji to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations, and to explore new partnerships for mutual growth and development.
