Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh met José Antonio Kast ahead of the presidential inauguration ceremony in Chile. The meeting took place as part of diplomatic engagements before the new government officially takes office.

In a post on social media, Singh said that the discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between India and Chile. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to working closely with the new Chilean government to deepen bilateral ties in several important areas.

The minister highlighted opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, critical minerals, clean energy, and innovation. These sectors are seen as key areas where both countries can expand their partnership and support each other’s economic growth.

Singh also conveyed greetings from Droupadi Murmu and Narendra Modi to the Chilean leadership. He said India is looking forward to beginning a new chapter in relations with Chile under the incoming administration.

Officials said the meeting reflects the growing importance of India’s engagement with countries in Latin America. Both sides expressed interest in expanding cooperation and building stronger political, economic, and technological partnerships in the coming years.

The interaction ahead of the inauguration ceremony is expected to further strengthen diplomatic ties and open new opportunities for collaboration between the two nations.
