India made a strong start in the Men’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup 2025 by defeating Chile 7–0 in their first Pool B match. The match was played yesterday at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai.
From the beginning, India controlled the game with fast passing, strong defence, and sharp attacks. Their teamwork helped them score goals easily while stopping Chile from creating any major chances. The clean-sheet victory gives India a confident start in the tournament.
Other top teams also started well. Defending champions Germany, along with Argentina and Belgium, won their opening matches too. This means the competition in the group stages will be tough.
The Under-21 World Cup is being held across two cities in Tamil Nadu — Chennai and Madurai. Young players from around the world are taking part, making it an exciting tournament for hockey fans.
