Indian Journalists Win Prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Cybercrime Reporting

Two Indian journalists have made history by winning the prestigious Pulitzer Prize. Anand RK and Suparna Sharma were honored for their groundbreaking reporting on cybercrime in India. The duo, along with Natalie Obiko Pearson, received the award in the Illustrated Reporting and Commentary category for their work published in Bloomberg. Their project shed light on critical issues related to cybercrime.

Additionally, Aniruddha Ghosal, based in Hanoi, won in the International Reporting category. His investigation revealed how the US Border Patrol secretly uses advanced surveillance tools originally developed in Silicon Valley and further refined in China. The series also highlighted how these technologies are employed by other nations, raising important questions about global security practices.

The Pulitzer Prizes, considered the highest honor in American journalism, are awarded by Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. This year’s wins mark a significant achievement for Indian journalists on the international stage.
