India’s Naval Ship Visits France

INS Sudarshini, a training ship of the Indian Navy, has arrived in Sète as part of its Lokayan-26 expedition. This visit marks an important stage in the ship’s long international journey and shows India’s commitment to maritime friendship and cultural exchange with other countries.

While in Sète, the ship will take part in the Escale à Sète festival. This is a popular international event where traditional ships and sailors from many European countries come together. The event celebrates maritime heritage, sailing traditions, and cultural connections between nations.

Before arriving in France, INS Sudarshini had already visited several countries, including Oman, Egypt, and Malta. During this journey, the ship has traveled more than 5,500 nautical miles, covering a large part of its global route.

Throughout the voyage, the ship has been acting as a “Floating Ambassador” for India. The crew has been sharing India’s rich maritime history, traditions, and culture with people in different countries. They have also taken part in friendly exchanges and events to build stronger international relationships.

This journey highlights India’s growing role in global maritime cooperation. It also shows how the country is using such missions to promote cultural understanding, strengthen ties with other nations, and celebrate its long connection with the sea.
