INS Vikrant Reaches Colombo for Fleet Review

The Indian Navy’s aircraft carrier INS Vikrant reached the Port of Colombo today. It arrived after the Sri Lanka Navy invited it to take part in the International Fleet Review 2025 (IFR). The port was full of excitement as many people, including children and members of the Indian community, came to see the huge warship.

INS Vikrant, commissioned in 2022, is India’s first fully home-built aircraft carrier and a major achievement for the Navy. Its visit shows the strong friendship and cooperation between India and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is holding the fleet review as part of its 75th-anniversary celebrations. Warships from many countries will take part, showing Sri Lanka’s growing role in regional maritime relations.

The arrival of INS Vikrant is not just a friendly visit—it also highlights India’s strong and growing naval power in the Indian Ocean.
