Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) saw a remarkable performance by young bowlers Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain in their match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Hyderabad. Both took four wickets each, helping SRH bowl out RR for 159 in 19 overs.
Praful made history by taking three wickets in the first over of RR’s chase, becoming the first IPL bowler to achieve this feat. He added another wicket in his next over, dismissing skipper Riyan Parag. Sakib, meanwhile, took Yashasvi Jaiswal early and claimed three more wickets in the death overs.
Praful finished with 4/34, while Sakib recorded 4/24. SRH bowling coach Varun Aaron revealed he had only one message for them before the game: enjoy it. He emphasized that their debut was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Aaron also shared how he had recommended both bowlers to the management but credited the team for believing in them. Praful’s father thanked Varun for his support during the player’s injury recovery, calling him a “lifeline” when Praful faced career-threatening injuries.
The win moved SRH to fourth place with four points from five matches. It was their second victory of the season, following an earlier win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Without regular skipper Pat Cummins, SRH will next face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 18 April.
