Abbas Araghchi has said that the current indirect talks between Iran and the United States over Iran’s nuclear programme are among the most serious and longest negotiations in recent years. He made these remarks during an interview with Iranian state television yesterday.
Araghchi did not share detailed information about the discussions. However, he said that Iran’s position has been clearly explained and that Tehran knows what it expects from the negotiations.
The United States has not yet officially commented on the talks. The White House did not immediately respond to questions from the media.
Iran and the US held several hours of indirect negotiations yesterday in Geneva regarding Iran’s nuclear programme. Despite long discussions, the two sides were unable to reach an agreement.
Badr al-Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, acted as a mediator in the talks. He said that there had been significant progress, but he did not provide further details.
He also announced that technical-level discussions will continue next week in Vienna, which is home to the International Atomic Energy Agency. These talks are expected to focus on detailed issues related to Iran’s nuclear activities.
The negotiations are part of ongoing efforts to ease tensions and find a diplomatic solution to concerns about Iran’s nuclear programme.
