US President Donald Trump has said he is considering several options in response to the ongoing conflict with Iran, while suggesting that major developments could take place soon. His comments came as diplomatic efforts continued over the conflict and the future of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
Trump reportedly said that Washington was considering different approaches, including further military action, putting greater economic pressure on Iran or reaching a negotiated agreement. His comments came amid continued tensions between the two countries and growing international concern over the conflict.
At the same time, Iran has communicated conditions through mediators for restarting negotiations with the United States. Iranian officials have said that Tehran has shared its demands with mediators, including Qatar. Reports indicate that the conditions are linked to ending hostilities and addressing the restrictions affecting the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a major focus of the conflict because it is one of the world’s most important energy shipping routes. Recent tracking data showed that commercial traffic through the waterway had fallen sharply, although oil exports from Gulf countries have continued through the strait.
