Iranians Burn Trump Poster in Tehran After Election Defeats

Iranians gathered in Enghelab Square in Tehran and burned a large poster featuring U.S. President Donald Trump and several of his allies following the Republican Party’s losses in the U.S. midterm elections.

The poster also showed Vice President J.D. Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The protest reflected growing anger over the February 28 attacks reportedly led by Trump and Netanyahu. The attacks killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and others, triggering a wider conflict across West Asia.

During the gathering, crowds chanted for revenge and waved red flags carrying slogans such as “We Will Kill Trump.” A song mourning Khamenei played as the poster burned.

Earlier, Iranians had also mocked Trump during a rally commemorating the 1979 takeover of the U.S. embassy in Tehran.

The latest protests followed the Democrats’ reported success in the midterm elections. Trump reportedly acknowledged that his unsuccessful war against Iran had contributed to the Republican Party’s losses.

Iranian officials welcomed the Republican defeat. Security chief Mohsen Rezaei reportedly described the outcome as a “political failure” for Trump. Tehran also claimed it had achieved victories on the battlefield and near the Strait of Hormuz.
