Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has reviewed the country’s military preparedness as tensions with Iran continue to rise. He held important talks with Army Chief Eyal Zamir to assess how ready the armed forces are for any possible situation.
The discussions took place after Zamir returned from a recent visit to Washington in the United States. During his trip, he met top American military leaders, including the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, and senior Pentagon officials. The meetings focused on strengthening coordination between Israel and the US and preparing for different scenarios, including the possibility of US military action against Iran.
Officials said both sides discussed security cooperation and plans to handle any future threats. The aim is to ensure both countries are ready if the situation in the region worsens.
This visit follows a similar trip by Israel’s military intelligence chief, Shlomi Binder, to the United States. These back-to-back visits show that Israel and the US are increasing their planning and coordination as concerns grow about a possible regional conflict.
At the same time, Iran has also stepped up its military readiness. Iranian Army Chief Amir Hatami said the country’s armed forces are on full defensive alert. He said Iran is closely watching developments in the region.
Speaking in Tehran, Hatami warned that any mistake or attack by the United States could lead to serious consequences. He said such actions could put Israel and the entire West Asia region at risk.
With both sides preparing and issuing warnings, tensions in the region remain high, raising fears of a larger confrontation. Many observers hope that diplomatic efforts will help prevent further escalation.
