In a major development for the Indian Premier League (IPL), Ravindra
Jadeja may soon leave the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
According to a report by Cricbuzz, CSK — the five-time IPL champions — are in advanced
talks with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for a possible player swap. The deal could see
Jadeja moving to RR in exchange for their captain and star wicketkeeper, Sanju Samson.
Both players have the same price tag of ₹18 crore, but RR is not agreeing to a direct swap.
Cricbuzz reported that another CSK player, possibly Sam Curran, might also be included in the deal.
However, the talks have hit a roadblock because RR reportedly wants South African player Dewald Brevis,
who joined CSK midway through last season and performed very well. CSK is not ready to include Brevis
or any other player apart from Jadeja in the trade.
Jadeja, one of the world’s top all-rounders, was also consulted before CSK began talks with RR.
Jadeja joined CSK in 2012 and has been a key part of their success, helping the team win four
IPL titles (2018, 2021, 2023, and 2025). Known for his reliable bowling, batting, and fielding,
Jadeja became one of captain M.S. Dhoni’s most trusted players.
In 2022, Jadeja was briefly made CSK captain, and even after stepping down, he continued to be
one of the team’s main match-winners. His most memorable moment came in the 2023 IPL final, where
he hit a four and a six off the last two balls to win the title for CSK against Gujarat Titans.
Setting up a new Commander of National Strategic Command, who will be an army officer chosen by
the Prime Minister based on the CDF’s recommendation.
Giving lifelong constitutional protection to 5-star officers, such as Field Marshals, including
legal immunity and protection from being removed from office.
In simple terms, this amendment gives huge power to General Asim Munir, the current Army Chief.
He will automatically become the CDF, gaining full authority over the army, navy, and air force,
as well as the control of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons. His promotion to Field Marshal will now have
legal backing, and he will receive lifelong immunity from any legal action or dismissal.
Before these changes, the military already had a strong influence over Pakistan’s politics, economy,
and society. But with this amendment, the saying “Pakistan is not a country with an army; it is an army
with a country” now feels more true than ever.
