Weatherald arrives in Leicester after an important winter where he made his Test debut against England during the Ashes series. Despite scoring 201 runs across five Tests, his performance was mixed as Australia secured a 4-1 series win.
Weatherald brings extensive first-class experience with 5,784 runs, including 13 centuries, averaging 36.84 over 85 matches. With upcoming Test matches against Bangladesh, South Africa, New Zealand, and India, he chose to join Leicestershire to maintain his form and gain international exposure.
