Janmashtami is celebrated every year to remember the birth of Lord Krishna. On this special day, devotees spend time praying, singing devotional songs and chanting Krishna’s name. Mathura and Vrindavan Ready for Grand Celebrations
Mathura and Vrindavan, which are closely associated with the life of Lord Krishna, are preparing for large celebrations. The cities have been decorated for the festival, with thousands of devotees expected to arrive from different parts of India and abroad.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to take part in the Janmashtami celebrations in Mathura. Because of the large number of visitors expected, authorities have made extensive security arrangements in the city.
Police and other officials are working to manage the crowds and ensure the smooth movement of devotees. Special arrangements have also been made around important temples and other major religious locations.
President Sends Janmashtami Greetings
President Droupadi Murmu has extended her greetings to citizens on the occasion of Janmashtami. In her message, she said the life and teachings of Lord Krishna continue to strengthen India’s cultural and philosophical traditions.
The President highlighted the teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, saying they remain an important source of guidance for people facing difficult situations. She said Krishna’s teachings encourage people to make wise decisions and remain committed to moral values.
President Murmu also said Janmashtami reminds people of the importance of harmony, devotion, duty and service to others.
Om Birla Also Extends Greetings
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also greeted people on the occasion. He said the love and devotion shown towards Lord Krishna by his followers in India and around the world are deep and lasting.
Birla also highlighted the importance of the Bhagavad Gita and its teachings. He said the scripture provides timeless guidance on duty, ethics, justice, wisdom, courage and maintaining balance in life.
Janmashtami is therefore being celebrated not only as a religious festival but also as an occasion to remember the values and teachings associated with Lord Krishna. Across India, devotees are coming together through prayer, devotion and celebration to mark the birth of Lord Krishna.
