The third day of the 69th National School Under-17 Hockey Championship in Jharkhand saw exciting and competitive matches, with teams from all over India showing strong performances.
The tournament is being organised by the Jharkhand Education Project Council under the Department of School Education and Literacy. It started on January 27 and will continue until January 31. A total of 63 teams, including both boys’ and girls’ teams, are taking part in the event.
Host Jharkhand continued its impressive performance on day three. In the boys’ category, Jharkhand defeated Rajasthan 6-0, and in the girls’ category, they beat KVS 8-0. These victories helped both Jharkhand boys’ and girls’ teams move forward to the pre-quarterfinals.
In the boys’ category, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Chandigarh, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Puducherry, Manipur, Vidya Bharati, and Gujarat also won their matches.
In the girls’ category, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Kerala, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Vidya Bharati, Manipur, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Mizoram, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Bihar emerged victorious in their games.
The championship has provided a platform for young hockey players to showcase their talent and compete at a national level. Fans and officials have praised the high level of skill, teamwork, and determination displayed by the participants.
With several matches still to be played, the competition remains intense as teams fight to reach the quarterfinals and beyond.
