Supreme Court judge B.V. Nagarathna said on Wednesday (December 3, 2025)
that people in South India do not want to feel excluded just because they
do not speak Hindi.
She was answering a question about the use of Hindi in the court system.
Justice Nagarathna explained that her comments were not about politics.
She said India is a large and diverse country, and we cannot expect everyone
to use only one language. She stressed that language should not divide people,
and everyone should feel included.
