Kejriwal Slams BJP-AIADMK Alliance in Tamil Nadu

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and former Chief Minister of Delhi, made strong remarks during an election campaign in Tamil Nadu on Monday (April 20, 2026).

He spoke at a public meeting in the Egmore (SC) area, where M. K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, was also present.

Kejriwal said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken control of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). He claimed that the AIADMK has made a serious mistake by bringing the BJP into Tamil Nadu politics.

He said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is effectively only the BJP, and not a group of equal partners. According to him, the AIADMK is now under BJP influence.

To support his point, he gave an example from Bihar politics, saying that leaders there lost power after aligning with the BJP. He mentioned former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying his role was reduced after political changes.

Kejriwal also warned that something similar could happen in Tamil Nadu. He said the AIADMK could break into smaller groups and the BJP might take control of it.

He further said that the BJP wants to increase its influence in Tamil Nadu, but claimed that many people in the state do not support the party.

He urged voters to be careful while voting, saying that the decisions they make will shape the future of the state.
