In Bangladesh, a blast at a madrasa in Keraniganj today injured four people, including a woman and two children. Following the explosion, police launched a major operation and seized about 250 kilograms of bomb-making materials.
The blast happened around noon at Ummal Qura International Madrasa in the Hasnabad area. Keraniganj Police Station officer-in-charge Saiful Alam said crude bombs, chemicals, and other materials were recovered during the ongoing raid.
The Crime Scene Unit and Bomb Disposal Unit safely handled and neutralised the materials. Two women have been taken for questioning, and a case will be filed.
The explosion caused cracks in the building’s roof and beams, damaged nearby rooms, and partially affected an adjacent building. Police said the madrasa was closed for the weekly holiday, which prevented more people from being hurt.
