Kohli, Rohit Shine as Bihar Breaks Record

In domestic cricket, star Indian batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma scored centuries on the opening day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy yesterday.

Playing for Delhi, Virat Kohli scored 131 runs off 101 balls while chasing Andhra Pradesh’s target of 299 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru. Delhi won the match by 4 wickets, with Priyansha Arya and Nitish Rana also scoring half-centuries to support Kohli’s century.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma scored 155 runs off just 94 balls against Sikkim at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. His brilliant innings helped Mumbai chase 237 and win by 8 wickets.

In another match, Bihar set the highest ever total in List A cricket, scoring 574 for 6 in 50 overs against Arunachal Pradesh in a Plate Group match at the JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 190 off 84 balls, while Bihar’s captain Sakibul Gani remained unbeaten on 128 runs in just 40 balls. Ayush Loharuka also made a century but was run out at 116. Arunachal Pradesh were bowled out for 177, and Bihar won the match by 397 runs.
