Police have registered a fresh case against Mahesh Mudiraj, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of BRS working president KT Rama Rao, in connection with an alleged confrontation with police personnel at a check post in Hyderabad.
According to the police complaint, the incident took place on September 8 at the Bollaram check post. Police personnel had been deployed in the area to maintain law and order during the ongoing Assembly session.
The complaint alleges that a convoy carrying BRS leaders and their supporters was stopped by police officers. When the officers asked the group not to proceed, the convoy allegedly continued moving. Police have alleged that Mahesh then approached senior officers, shouted at them, used abusive language and pushed them several times.
Based on a complaint filed by Bollaram Police Sub-Inspector K Sunny, a case was registered under Sections 132 and 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). These sections relate to allegedly using force against a public servant while they are performing their duties and disobeying an order issued by a public servant.
The latest case has added to an already developing legal issue involving Mahesh. He and KTR’s personal assistant Mahender Reddy are also facing another case connected to an incident at the Telangana Assembly on September 7.
The two were later questioned at Saifabad Police Station in connection with that earlier case. A separate dispute also emerged at the police station during their questioning. KTR alleged that masked men attacked his PRO and PA inside the station, while Hyderabad Police denied that an assault took place and provided a different account of the incident.
The Telangana High Court has since directed authorities to preserve CCTV footage from Saifabad Police Station, including footage from entry and exit points and the interrogation room. The footage could be relevant to the ongoing legal proceedings concerning the disputed incident at the station.
The fresh case against Mahesh is now being investigated by the police. The allegations made in the complaint have not been established by a court, and the investigation will determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the alleged confrontation.
The developments have attracted attention because Mahesh works closely with senior BRS leader KT Rama Rao. Further legal action will depend on the investigation and the evidence collected by the authorities.
