Major Fire at Paint Unit Near Red Hills

A major fire broke out at a private industrial unit that handles paint and chemicals near Red Hills on Monday (March 2, 2026). Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Two employees who were working inside the unit at the time of the fire were quickly evacuated to safety.

The factory is located at Maharaja Nagar in Vadakarai, close to Red Hills. It is owned by a person named Prakash. The fire started around 12.45 p.m. when the two workers were inside the premises carrying out their regular duties.

As soon as the fire broke out, thick smoke was seen rising from the building. Other employees and nearby residents noticed the smoke and immediately alerted the Fire and Rescue Services. Firefighters rushed to the spot and began efforts to control the flames.

Since the unit deals with paint and chemicals, there was concern about the fire spreading quickly. However, emergency teams acted fast to prevent the situation from getting worse. The two workers inside were safely brought out, and no casualties were reported.

Authorities are now looking into the cause of the fire. Further details about the extent of the damage are awaited.
