Marina Rope Car Project Faces Public Protest

The rope car project planned along Marina Beach has faced a problem after local residents objected to the initial soil testing work.

A few days ago, a team of engineers began drilling into the beach sand to a depth of about 60 feet. This drilling was part of a soil investigation to check whether the ground is strong enough to support the rope car structures. However, when residents saw the work taking place, they gathered at the site and raised objections.

The residents expressed concern that drilling and construction activities could damage the beach environment. Some people said that Marina Beach is an important public space and tourist attraction, and any major project there should be carefully studied. They were also worried about possible impacts on the coastline, marine life, and the natural beauty of the area.

Due to the protest, the engineers stopped the drilling work temporarily. Officials are expected to hold discussions with residents and explain the purpose of the soil investigation. Authorities may also review environmental and safety aspects before deciding how to move forward with the project.

The rope car project aims to improve tourism and provide a new travel experience along the beach. However, it now faces delays as concerns from the public need to be addressed.
