M.K. Stalin Walks in Chennai as Assembly Elections Loom

As the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approach, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party conducted a morning walk campaign in Chennai’s Kannagi Nagar on April 21, 2026. The event drew many supporters and residents who gathered to meet him and show their support.

Congress MP K.C. Venugopal claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims to take over the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections by using the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) as a tool. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership during an interview, calling it “dictatorial.”

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused the BJP of deliberately delaying her flight at the airport by keeping it on the runway for 30 minutes. She also mentioned that Hemant Soren faced similar issues and claimed the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) faced problems getting permission for a meeting due to a BJP official involved in poll duties.
