Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roundtable meeting with CEOs and founders of AI and deep-tech startups at Seva Teerth in New Delhi today. The meeting brought together leaders from 16 innovative companies working in areas such as healthcare, agriculture, cybersecurity, space, and social empowerment.
During the discussion, the Prime Minister spoke about how Artificial Intelligence can help improve many sectors in India. He highlighted its use in agriculture to increase productivity, in environmental protection to address climate challenges, and in education to promote learning in mother tongues. He said AI should be used to solve real problems faced by people and to improve their daily lives.
Mr Modi stressed the importance of strong data governance and responsible use of technology. He warned about the dangers of misinformation and said that AI systems must be developed carefully and ethically. He encouraged startups to build solutions that are designed specifically for India’s needs rather than simply copying global models.
Referring to UPI as an example, the Prime Minister said India has already shown the world how to build simple, scalable, and successful digital systems. He expressed confidence in Indian companies and asked people to trust and support domestic products and innovations. He also spoke about expanding private participation in the space sector and noted that investors are showing strong interest in Indian startups.
The CEOs presented their ideas and shared details about their work. Many of these startups are developing technologies that can create large-scale impact across the population. They appreciated the government’s continuous support in strengthening India’s AI ecosystem.
Startup leaders said that India’s AI sector is growing rapidly and still has huge untapped potential. They pointed out that global momentum in AI innovation is increasingly moving toward India. According to them, the country now offers a strong and supportive environment for AI development and research.
They also praised the India AI Impact Summit, saying it reflects India’s rising importance in global discussions about artificial intelligence. Overall, the meeting highlighted India’s ambition to become a global leader in AI and deep technology while ensuring that innovation benefits every section of society.
