Mohammad Wasim Jnr Dropped, World Cup Plans Leaked

Pakistan’s preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026 were accidentally leaked after a message was shared in a private WhatsApp group run by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The group includes journalists from different parts of the world.

The incident happened on Friday when a member of the PCB’s media team posted a message containing details about the national team’s plans for the upcoming tournament. The message also included an update about fast bowler Mohammad Wasim Jnr.

According to a report by RevSportz, the PCB media team shared the message at around 8:49 PM. It appeared to be an official media release. The message said that Mohammad Wasim Jnr had been released from Pakistan’s T20I squad for the remaining two matches of the series against Australia.

The note further mentioned that Pakistan would continue the series with a 15-member squad. It also indicated that the same group of players would travel later for the ICC T20 World Cup, which gave away part of the team’s tournament plans.

Soon after being posted, the message was reportedly deleted, but not before some journalists noticed it. The deleted message quickly drew attention, as it revealed information that may not have been meant for public release.

The leak has raised questions about communication and security within the PCB’s media operations. Officials have not yet made a formal statement on how the message was shared or why it was removed.
