Musk Slams Apple-Google AI Partnership

Billionaire Elon Musk has criticised Apple’s decision to partner with Google, calling the move “unreasonable.” The Tesla and SpaceX CEO said the deal gives too much power to Google, which already dominates several major technology platforms.

Musk’s comments came after Google officially confirmed that it has signed a multi-year agreement with Apple. Under this deal, Google will provide its Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) models and cloud computing services to support Apple’s future AI features. These include next-generation versions of Siri and other tools under Apple’s “Apple Intelligence” platform.

Reacting to Google’s announcement on social media platform X, Musk said the partnership creates an “unreasonable concentration of power” in the hands of Google. He pointed out that Google already controls widely used products such as the Android mobile operating system and the Chrome web browser, which are used by billions of people worldwide.

Musk suggested that allowing Google’s AI technology to power key Apple features could reduce competition in the AI space. According to him, this kind of collaboration between two of the world’s biggest tech companies may limit choices for users and developers and slow innovation in the long run.

The deal highlights how major technology companies are increasingly teaming up to compete in the fast-growing AI market. While Apple gains access to advanced AI models without building everything from scratch, Google strengthens its position as a leading provider of AI technology and cloud services.

Neither Apple nor Google has responded directly to Musk’s criticism. However, the partnership has already sparked debate about competition, control, and the growing influence of a few large companies over the future of artificial intelligence.
