Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a three-day visit to Gujarat, has arrived in Somnath. During his visit, he will take part in the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, a celebration being held at Prabhas Patan in the state.
The event marks 1,000 years since the temple was attacked in 1026 and 75 years since its restoration after India’s independence in 1951.
As part of the celebrations, the Prime Minister will participate in ‘Omkar Jap’, a sacred chanting ritual at the temple. After the prayers, a drone show will light up the skies above Prabhas Patan, creating a spectacular visual display for attendees.
This visit highlights the cultural and historical importance of the Somnath Temple and the government’s focus on celebrating India’s heritage while connecting it with modern technology and events.
