Nepal Bus Accident Kills 17 in Dhading

At least 17 people, including two foreign nationals, were killed in a tragic bus accident in Nepal early this morning. The accident took place near Charaundi in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality of Dhading district along the Prithvi Highway.

The bus, which was travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, lost control and plunged into the Trishuli River. According to officials, there were 44 passengers on board at the time of the accident.

Among those who died were two foreign nationals — one man and one woman. Authorities have not yet released their identities.

Rescue teams acted quickly after the accident. Personnel from all three security agencies, along with local residents, took part in the rescue operation. The operation has now been completed at the accident site.

Out of the 44 passengers, 26 injured people were rescued and sent to different hospitals. Some are receiving treatment at nearby local hospitals, while most of the seriously injured have been shifted to hospitals in Kathmandu for better medical care.

Officials are investigating the cause of the accident. Further details are expected after a complete inquiry.
