The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Jasir Bilal Wani in Srinagar.
Officials say he was an “active co-conspirator” who worked with suicide bomber
Umar un Nabi in the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort last week, which killed 13
people.
Wani, who is from Qazigund in Anantnag, is accused of giving technical help for
planning terror attacks. According to the NIA, he modified drones and tried to
make rockets before the car explosion happened.
Wani, also known as Danish, was arrested by an NIA team in Srinagar.
The NIA said that Wani worked closely with Umar un Nabi to plan the
attack and that he played a major role in the conspiracy.
The agency is now looking into several angles to understand the full
plan behind the November 10 blast in Delhi.
NIA teams are checking different leads and searching in multiple states to
identify everyone involved.
The agency has called Umar un Nabi a “suicide bomber” and described the car
used in the attack as a “vehicle-borne IED” (a car carrying explosives).
