In a surprising development, Bangladesh women’s cricket team captain Nigar
Sultana Joty took a sharp dig at India’s World Cup-winning captain Harmanpreet
Kaur while replying to recent allegations of physical assault. Nigar Sultana had
recently been in India, leading Bangladesh in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
The controversy began when Bangladesh fast bowler Jahanara Alam, who is currently
not in the team, claimed that several younger players told her that Nigar Sultana
had “hit” them and “mistreated” them.
