The strong southwest monsoon and recent tropical cyclones have impacted over 380,000 people across eight regions in the Philippines. According to reports, around 110,000 families have been affected, with six deaths and seven injuries recorded.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that 86 evacuation centers have been opened, providing shelter for about 7,300 people. Additionally, nearly 3,700 individuals are staying outside these centers.
PAGASA, the Philippine weather agency, has warned of continued heavy rainfall in Metro Manila and several provinces on Luzon island. Flash floods and landslides are expected in areas like Ilocos Sur, La Union, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are also forecast for the Visayas and parts of Mindanao.
Typhoon Dolphin is intensifying the southwest monsoon, bringing rough seas to extreme Northern Luzon. This weather system is expected to cause significant disruption in the coming days.
