Over 780 Killed as West Asia War Escalates

As the war in West Asia grows more serious, more than 780 people have been killed in Iran since the United States and Israel began airstrikes on February 27, 2026, according to the Iranian Red Crescent. The number of deaths has continued to rise as fresh attacks were carried out by both Iran and Israel on Tuesday (March 3, 2026).

On Tuesday, Israel reportedly carried out bombardments in Lebanon, while Iran launched new attacks in response. A drone attack was also reported near the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. These developments show that the conflict is spreading across the region and increasing tensions in several countries.

Meanwhile, the United Nations nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), gave an update about Iran’s nuclear facilities. The agency said there was some recent damage to entrance buildings at Iran’s underground Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant (FEP). However, the IAEA said it does not expect any radiological consequences from the damage.

The agency also stated that there has been no additional impact detected inside the main facility itself. Officials are continuing to monitor the situation closely to ensure there is no nuclear risk.

The ongoing conflict has created fear and uncertainty across West Asia. Many countries are calling for restraint to prevent further escalation, as the situation remains tense and unpredictable.
