Panruti Ramachandran Launches New Party MGRADMK

Veteran politician Panruti Ramachandran has launched a new political party named “MGRADMK” in Chennai on Thursday, marking another major step in his long political career.

Ramachandran has nearly 70 years of experience in Tamil Nadu politics and is considered one of the most experienced leaders in the state. Over the years, he has worked with several prominent political parties and leaders, playing important roles in different phases of state politics.

He began his political journey alongside former Chief Minister M. G. Ramachandran (MGR) and was known to be one of his close associates. After that phase, he joined the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) to support its founder Vijayakant, contributing his experience to strengthen the party.

Later, he extended his support to former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, especially during periods of political change within the AIADMK. However, as many leaders gradually left Panneerselvam’s camp, Ramachandran also decided to move on.

With the launch of MGRADMK, Ramachandran appears to be attempting to create a new political platform, possibly inspired by the legacy of MGR. Political observers believe the new party could aim to attract supporters who identify with MGR’s ideology and governance style.

The announcement comes at a time when Tamil Nadu’s political scene is witnessing shifts and realignments ahead of future elections. It remains to be seen how much support the new party will gain and what impact it will have on the state’s political landscape.

The formation of MGRADMK marks a fresh chapter in Panruti Ramachandran’s long and eventful political journey.
