Police Alerted to Surge in Ganja-Laced Chocolates in Telangana

Authorities in Telangana, particularly in Hyderabad, have heightened their vigilance and checks on general stores due to a spike in the sale and distribution of ganja-laced chocolates. The police, in collaboration with the Prohibition and Excise Department, aim to curb the smuggling and sale of these products, particularly targeting students in the city.

The move comes in response to citizen complaints and increasing incidents of ganja-laced chocolates being distributed. Excise officials have made several busts in January, seizing significant amounts of the narcotic-laced chocolates. Concerns about the safety of school-going children have prompted citizens to request checks at various stores, urging authorities to take preventive measures.

Efforts are underway to address this issue and maintain public safety, with dedicated tip lines available for reporting such activities.
