Poonamallee Gears Up for Deepavali Rush with Temporary Bus Stand

In preparation for the upcoming Deepavali rush, the Tiruvallur district administration is constructing a temporary bus stand on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway in Poonamallee near the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus depot. The Transport department will operate special and regular bus services for three days, from Thursday to Saturday, from five bus termini, including Koyambedu, Poonamallee, Madhavaram, K.K. Nagar, and Tambaram MEPZ. Collector T. Prabhushankar and other officials inspected the facilities at the temporary bus stand, including waiting areas, drinking water provisions, and signboards.

Approximately 656 buses will serve various routes, such as Hosur, Dharmapuri, Chittoor, Ambur, Tirupattur, Kancheepuram, Arani, Tirupati, and Tiruttani, during the Deepavali eve. Transport Department Secretary Phanindra Reddy also reviewed the arrangements at the Poonamallee bus terminus to ensure a smooth travel experience for passengers.
