President, PM Pay Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the Rajghat memorial on Friday to mark his 78th death anniversary.

They visited the memorial in New Delhi and placed flowers to honour the Father of the Nation. They also observed a moment of silence and remembered Gandhi’s message of peace, truth and non-violence.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan also paid his respects. Several Union Ministers, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, were present at the memorial.

Every year, leaders and citizens gather at Rajghat on this day to remember Gandhi’s role in India’s freedom struggle and his teachings of unity and non-violence.

Special prayers and programmes were held, and people across the country paid tribute to his life and legacy.
