Mayor R. Priya has presented an update on the implementation of initiatives outlined in the Greater Chennai Corporation’s budget for the fiscal year 2023-24. Out of the 83 announcements made, 25 have been completed, while 51 are currently underway. School education initiatives constitute a significant portion of the completed projects, with nine concluded and 17 in progress.
Notably, the installation of Public Address Systems (PAS) in Chennai Corporation schools is pending. Other departments, such as Public Health, Stormwater Drain, and Solid Waste Management, have also made notable strides, with projects either completed or progressing. However, certain initiatives, including those related to Bus Route Roads and modernizing infrastructure, are yet to be fully realized.
Nevertheless, the Mayor underscores the commitment to fulfilling all outlined objectives, highlighting the ongoing efforts towards enhancing civic amenities and services for Chennai residents.
