Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by five wickets in a thrilling IPL 2026 clash at MA Chidambaram Stadium. Chasing 210, PBKS achieved their target in 18.4 overs to secure their second win and move to the top of the table with four points.
PBKS won the toss and chose to bowl first on a batting-friendly pitch. CSK scored 209/5 in their innings, led by Ayush Mhatre’s quickfire 73 and Shivam Dube’s 45. However, they lost wickets regularly and struggled to maintain momentum.
PBKS bowlers tightened the screws, with Anshul Kamboj taking two wickets for 43 runs. The total of 209 seemed challenging but was achievable on a good pitch.
In their chase, PBKS started strongly thanks to Priyansh Arya’s explosive 39 and Shreyas Iyer’s steady half-century. Key partnerships kept the required run rate in check, and despite losing five wickets, they finished comfortably with eight balls to spare.
Marcus Stoinis sealed the win at the end. With this victory, PBKS lead the IPL points table with four points, while CSK remains at the bottom with zero points after two losses.
