Putin: Russia Complies with NPT in Both Letter and Spirit

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Russia fully follows both the letter and spirit of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

Speaking at the 11th NPT Review Conference, Putin said that Russia remains committed to its responsibilities as a major member and official depositary of the treaty.

He emphasized that Russia considers itself a responsible participant in global nuclear security efforts and continues to support the main goals of the NPT.

The treaty is designed to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons, encourage peaceful use of nuclear energy, and promote efforts toward worldwide nuclear disarmament.

Putin said Russia’s policies and actions are in line with these goals and that the country remains dedicated to maintaining international security and strategic stability.

The NPT Review Conference is an important global meeting where member countries evaluate progress on nuclear non-proliferation and discuss ways to strengthen international cooperation.

Through his remarks, Putin sought to reaffirm Russia’s position that it supports established international nuclear agreements while working within global legal frameworks.

His statement comes at a time when nuclear security remains a major international concern, making discussions on arms control and non-proliferation especially significant.
