PV Sindhu Loses Malaysia Open Semifinal

India’s top badminton player PV Sindhu saw her strong run come to an end after losing to China’s Wang Zhiyi in the women’s singles semifinals of the Malaysia Open Super 1000 on Saturday.

The two-time Olympic medalist struggled to handle the pressure against Wang, who is the world number two. Sindhu made several unforced errors during the match, which affected her performance.

She lost the match in straight games, 16-21 and 15-21. With this defeat, India’s campaign at the season-opening Malaysia Open Super 1000 tournament also came to an end.

Despite the loss, Sindhu’s semifinal appearance showed a positive start to her season, as she continues to compete at the highest level of international badminton.
