Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has played an important role in making India’s defence system stronger by developing modern and advanced technologies.
He was speaking at a function in New Delhi to honour DRDO scientists for their work and achievements. The Minister praised the scientists for their dedication and contribution to the country’s safety and security.
Rajnath Singh said that DRDO has 45 laboratories working in different areas such as aeronautics, missiles, weapons, and advanced computing. He described DRDO as the backbone of India’s defence strength because it supports the armed forces with new technologies and equipment.
He added that the world is changing quickly and technology is improving every day. Because of this, India must stay updated and continue to innovate. He stressed the need for better cooperation between public sector units (PSUs), private industries, and academic institutions to build a strong defence ecosystem.
The Minister said that when scientists, industries, and educational institutions work together, they can create better solutions and make India more self-reliant in defence production. He also encouraged DRDO to continue its research and focus on developing world-class technologies for the future.
The event highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting research, innovation, and teamwork to ensure the nation’s security.
