RCB Honors Longtime Physio Evan Speechly

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) recently held a special farewell event to honor Evan Speechly, their former Head Physio, who served the team for 18 years. The gathering marked the end of an era for one of RCB’s longest-serving staff members.

Evan Speechly played a crucial role behind the scenes as RCB navigated through multiple seasons. Upon his return to Bengaluru, he was treated to a heartfelt farewell organized by the franchise, attended by players and support staff who came together to celebrate his contributions.

Virat Kohli led the emotional tribute, sharing his deep bond with Speechly: “You’ve been part of this journey for so long, and your kindness, care, and integrity will always stay with me. You’re family to us, always have been and always will be.”

Reflecting on Speechly’s impact, RCB’s Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, noted: “Evan has been a key figure for many years. We wanted to acknowledge his hard work and celebrate everything he’s done for this team.”

Moved by the gesture, Speechly expressed his gratitude: “RCB has always felt like family to me. Spending 18 seasons here has been an incredible privilege, and I’ll always feel connected to the franchise.”

Speechly’s tenure with RCB spanned nearly two decades, during which he worked closely with players of all generations, earning respect and trust within the team. His farewell served as a reminder of the dedicated individuals behind the scenes who shape the team’s culture and legacy.
