The Greater Chennai Police arrested five suspects for the murder of R. Sarathkumar in Villivakkam. Sarathkumar, 58, was attacked with knives by a gang on two-wheelers while riding on Redhills Road with a friend.
The victim’s mother lodged a complaint, leading to the arrest of G. Nithishkumar, S. Prasanth, B. Yogeswaran, D. Rathnakumar, and A. Benjamin. Further investigation revealed that the crime was an act of revenge for Sarathkumar’s involvement in the murder of Janakiraman in 2019.
