Mumbai (Maharashtra), May 5 (ANI): Mumbai Indians’ opener Ryan Rickelton praised his partner Rohit Sharma after their team’s strong six-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium.
Rickelton highlighted the great teamwork between him and Rohit during their 143-run opening partnership. He expressed excitement about playing alongside one of India’s greatest players.
Rohit, who missed five matches due to injury, showed his batting skills by scoring 84 runs in 44 balls, including six fours and seven sixes. This helped Mumbai chase down LSG’s target of 229 with ease.
Rickelton mentioned the unique chemistry between him and Rohit, noting how their left-right hand combination works well together. They score in different areas and have clear strategies during the game.
Reflecting on the match, Rickelton shared his joy at batting with Rohit and hopes for more successful partnerships. He also spoke about learning from Rohit’s experience, especially in tests and 50-over cricket.
LSG had a strong start with scores from Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh, and Himmat Singh, reaching 228/5. However, Mumbai’s partnership between Rickelton (83 runs) and Rohit proved decisive, helping them win the match quickly.
Mumbai Indians are currently ninth in the standings with three wins, while LSG is at the bottom with two wins.
