Rohit Sharma will play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time
since 2018 when Mumbai faces Sikkim at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on
Wednesday in a Group C match. Rohit, who now plays only ODIs for India,
has been included in Mumbai’s squad for the first two matches against
Sikkim and Uttarakhand (on December 26).
His inclusion will be a big boost for the Mumbai team, led by Shardul Thakur.
Rohit’s return to domestic cricket comes after the BCCI directed
centrally-contracted players to participate in first-class matches when they
are not on national duty.
