Russian Strike Damages Energy Facility in Odesa

A Russian attack has damaged an important energy facility in Ukraine’s southern Black Sea region of Odesa, the private power company DTEK said on Tuesday (February 10, 2026).

According to the company, the strike caused serious damage to the equipment at the site. The facility plays a key role in supplying electricity to homes and businesses in the region. After the attack, power supply in some areas was affected.

DTEK shared details of the damage through the Telegram messaging app. The company said the destruction was extensive and repairs would take a long time. Engineers and workers have started restoration work, but bringing the equipment back to normal working condition may not happen quickly.

Officials said such attacks on energy infrastructure make life difficult for ordinary people. Damage to power plants and substations can lead to blackouts, heating problems, and disruptions to daily life, especially during cold weather.

Since the start of the conflict, Ukraine’s energy facilities have often been targeted, forcing authorities to repeatedly repair and protect key infrastructure. Energy companies are trying to strengthen security and carry out emergency repairs to keep electricity flowing.

Local authorities continue to monitor the situation while repair teams work to restore power as soon as possible.
