Ahmedabad (Gujarat), May 19 (ANI): Sachin Tendulkar encouraged young cricketers at the SRT10 Altevol Centre of Excellence in Ahmedabad to focus on preparation and discipline, warning against taking shortcuts. He also urged parents to give their children freedom.
Speaking at an event, Tendulkar explained that success isn’t guaranteed but can be achieved through hard work and focus. While talent is natural, it’s how one develops it that matters. Many talented players fail due to a lack of discipline.
He emphasized that playing for India requires sacrifices and there are no shortcuts. Cricket is played in front of many people, so taking shortcuts can lead to failure.
Tendulkar advised parents not to pressure their children but to support them with patience and proper guidance. He stressed the importance of balancing freedom and encouragement, as this helps achieve good results.
He concluded by saying India should move from being a sports-loving nation to one that actively plays sports. (ANI)
