Samson Shares Insights on Handling Noise and Team Approach

Sanju Samson, India’s wicketkeeper-batter, revealed that external criticism does affect him but he has learned to manage it by staying focused on his role in the team. He praised the leadership group for prioritizing the team’s success after India’s convincing seven-wicket win over Afghanistan in the second T20I.

India now leads the three-match series 2-0 and aims to complete a whitewash in the final match. During a post-match interview, Samson explained that scoring runs for India is challenging, especially when decisions are made based on team needs rather than individual performances.

He shared an example of how Vaibhav Sooryavanshi earned a spot in the team after his strong IPL performance, despite Samson’s recent struggles. Samson acknowledged that such tough decisions are necessary for the team’s success and credited Gautam Gambhir for his guidance during the series.

When asked about dealing with criticism, Samson admitted that it can be difficult but emphasized the importance of staying confident and focused on preparation. He also mentioned how India’s World Cup victory helped him handle pressure better.

Samson highlighted the effectiveness of India’s aggressive batting approach in T20 matches, which has been successful over the past few years. Despite facing failures, he remains confident in his ability to perform under pressure.

His experience as an IPL captain and understanding of team dynamics have helped him navigate challenging decisions and maintain a positive mindset. Samson concluded by reaffirming his commitment to supporting the team’s goals.
