Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief Seeman has softened his stand towards Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay and asked his party members to stop targeting or criticising Vijay and his party.
Speaking at a party meeting on Saturday, Seeman told his supporters that it was not their responsibility to oppose TVK or speak against it. Instead, he advised them to focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots level and preparing for the upcoming Assembly elections.
He said NTK cadres should spend their time meeting people, explaining the party’s policies, and building support across the state rather than engaging in political attacks.
Seeman also mentioned that TVK had not yet responded to several questions raised by NTK. However, he said there was no need to wait for those answers now. He stressed that the party’s immediate priority should be election work and organisational activities.
According to him, concentrating on groundwork and connecting with voters would help the party perform better in the elections.
His remarks signal a change in tone, as NTK earlier had taken a more critical stand against Vijay’s party. Political observers say this move could help NTK focus more on its own campaign strategy in the run-up to the polls.
