Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), winners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) three times,
have chosen former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson as their new assistant coach for the next season.
Watson, who won two ODI World Cups with Australia, brings a lot of
international experience, leadership skills, and good knowledge of modern
franchise cricket.
He was one of the best all-rounders of his time, playing 59 Test matches,
190 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and 58 T20 Internationals (T20Is).
Watson scored over 10,000 runs and took nearly 300 wickets in international
cricket. He also played a key role in Australia’s World Cup victories
in 2007 and 2015.
